Tryouts | Gahanna 12U Lions

Tryouts: July 26-27, 2023
Location: Blacklick Athletic Complex

**You DO NOT have to be from Gahanna to tryout. All interested girls from central Ohio are encouraged to tryout.**

Team Information:

Tryouts are for the 2023-24 season (Aug’23-July’24). For the 2023-24 season, your softball age is the girls age on 1/1/2024.
The Gahanna Lions 12U Travel program aims to develop and promote skill advancement of all players for every facet of the game.
All players are held to a higher level of commitment in regard to participating in practices, games, and tournaments.
Our team is a highly competitive team. Roster spots will be limited and only those girls who come to tryouts mentally and physically prepared will have an opportunity to make the team. Coaches may be seeking girls who play specific positions. The two-day process consists of individual drills, a short interview, and a scrimmage-like setting to gauge their in-game decision making.
There is no cost to tryout. If selected, families will be required to make an initial deposit within one week of selections to secure a spot on the team.
Fees in 2022-23 were $800. Costs could go up for the next season.
Typical schedule:
- Fall 2023: 2-3 tournaments within Ohio and weekly practices
- Jan.-March 2024: Indoor practices and conditioning at gymnasiums, Make the Team Training Center, and CrossFit Gahanna.
- April-May 2024: Outdoor practices 3-4x/week
- May 2024-July 2024: 5-7 tournaments. We may join the 270 league which plays once a week on Wednesdays. Overall we will play 40+ games. Some tournaments may require travel outside of Ohio.
